Loves Lost by Sourabh Mukherjee is a compilation of five short stories, all of them set in the modern times, all of them with a twist at the end, all of them compelling enough to make the reader captive and finish the book in one sitting.
The book is short, good for reading after a hard day’s work and getting refreshed, and the stories are all short and to the point. One story ends and you would want to read the next one, and so on.
The twist in each story comes at the very end, almost at the last page of every story, which would make you gasp and think about the story for a while.
The writing is clear with easy vocabulary, making reading a breeze. One can visualize all the characters in each story and can imagine the setting of the episode.
The first three stories have a tragedy as the central point while the last two have romance written all over it. The book could have been bigger, more stories could have been included in it, the length of each story is good, only thing I wished there could have been more number of stories and a bit of humour could have made it more interesting
Overall ill give it a 4 out of 5, a good read if you are looking for something light to be finished in one go.
